Students attend the JAG National Student Leadership Academy in Washington D.C.

150 Students and chaperones from JAG programs across Missouri attended the National Student Leadership Academy in our Nation’s Capitol.  Students were selected among leaders in their local programs to attend this conference and participate in leadership development sessions, team building initiatives, tour monuments and museums and listen to featured speakers throughout the week.

During the Leadership Awards luncheon, Governors from five states joined the JAG students to show their support for the program.  Our own Wyatt Huddleston from West Plains was the featured student keynote speaker and Zhenelle Winston from Jennings High School sang the National Anthem.

Competitive events are offered for students to compete against each other in events that help young people prepare for the world of work.  Congratulations to Caruthersville students Adrian Rogers for winning 3rd place in the Employability Skills competition, and Alijah Veasley, Marnesha Wiley and Mya Young who earned 2nd place in the PBL Showcase.

JAG-Missouri Board member and founding father Jim Buford was recognized with the first ever JAG Legacy award for his contribution to the JAG organization over the years.
